About Me

Hi! I’m Anita— a recent college grad with a big love for music, color, spontaneous trips, and finding beauty in unexpected places (yes, even in €3 hostels or late-night train stations). I’ve backpacked through Europe more than once on a budget so small it might as well have been imaginary — and somehow, those trips turned out to be the most life-giving, perspective-shifting adventures of all. This blog is my little corner of the internet where I share travel stories, budget hacks, and lessons learned the hard (and hilarious) way — all with the hope of helping other women feel confident, safe, and inspired to explore the world, whether solo or with friends. I started this blog because I believe travel doesn’t have to be expensive or perfectly planned to be meaningful. Life is messy and colorful and weird and wonderful — and I want to live it fully, with an open heart and a backpack that may or may not be falling apart. If you’re someone who’s chasing curiosity, learning as you go, and trying to see the world without draining your savings account — you’re in the right place. Let’s go.

Scrolllllll down to hear a little more about my story.

I could not be more excited and honored that you’re here reading this right now! Feel free to skip over to whatever blog post peaks your interest, but if you want to understand me, the author of the blog, and why it was created, keep reading!

I have a fun little habit of running away at a moment’s notice to climb a mountain, book a cheap plane ticket to Colorado, or go play my guitar in the middle of the woods. Three things I cherish most in life: that sense of child-like wonder with which I see the world… a world of music, fairies hiding among the rocks, and disco balls spreading light throughout a dark world; my faith, where I celebrate and praise my Savior and Creator, Jesus Christ; my family… my best friends… my three sisters and my two parents (and my three perfect dogs).

TRAVELS

There is nothing that brings me more excitement and joy in life than the beauty that the world holds for us. Going and finding hidden hikes, crystal coves, and towering trees is simply the greatest pleasure this world can offer. It helps if I can find a tree or some big rocks to climb as well. Here are some of my favorite travels so far, including Canada, Uganda, Iceland, the Dominican Republic, and my dearly beloved Colorado.

YOGA

I’ve been teaching Christian yoga for around four years. I believe that yoga, while having roots in other religions, is a practice that Christ has redeemed! I find that it has made me so much stronger, mentally, physically, and spiritually,  as well as providing my body and soul with rest. Yoga has been one of the biggest blessings in my life.

Another reason I am such an advocate for yoga is because it is incredibly body positive. I am in recovery from an eating disorder, and practicing yoga has showed me the meaning of body kindness and body compassion.

COLLEGE

I just graduated from the University of Georgia (GO DAWGS) where I created the most insane memories, made SO many incredible friends, was a member of Alpha Omicron Pi, was a YoungLife leader, and beepbopped around the world on spontaneous adventures and trips! I studied Spanish and French, as well as Pre-Law and Classical Culture. I’m proud to be a Dawg!
